Chemical Peels
Chemical peels, which remove the dead cells on the outer layer of the skin, are essential to maintaining healthy, beautiful, age-resistant skin. They have been shown to prevent breakdown of collagen and stimulate the process of natural skin renewal. Regular chemical peels help to reverse the signs of aging, improve skin tone and color, diminish acne and treat pre-cancerous lesions, like actinic keratosis.
Safe and effective chemical peels are performed in the office, with a trained medical professional determining which chemical peeling agent is most appropriate, according to the individual’s skin type and condition. Choices include glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and trichloroacetic acid (TCA) among others. After most chemical peels, the skin immediately looks more healthy, supple and radiant, the complexion fresh and clear.
Superficial chemical peels penetrate the outer layer of the skin and don’t involve crusting, peeling or any down time with the procedure. While medium depth peels provide more dramatic results, there is associated crusting and peeling and most patients require a recovery period of seven to ten days.
At Heritage Veins and Aesthetics, we utilize a broad range of chemical peels. In evaluating your needs, we consider:
- Your skin type: normal, oily, dry, sensitive, or combination skin will affect your treatment
- Your dermatology concerns: peels can improve acne scarring, whiteheads/blackheads, and pigmentation
- Intensity : patients who prefer to be away from work or social settings during recovery may be candidates for more intense peels requiring more downtime.

Glycolic Acid Peel
Naturally derived compounds like glycolic acid from sugar cane and lactic acid from sour milk are amazing exfoliators and slow the skin’s aging process and encourage skin renewal. This peel helps visibly reduce fine lines, wrinkles and photo-damage while increasing hydration, plumping skin and improving overall texture and tone. Glycolic acid peels are available in three increasing strengths to address mild to moderate signs of aging. It’s a more gentle peel and can be done during lunch time at work.
Salicylic Acid Peel
This 30% salicylic acid peel provides a quick superficial chemical peel that is great for treating acne. It helps reduce the appearance of mild to severe acne-prone skin while improving skin clarity, texture and tone. The salicylic acid peel combats existing blemishes, boosts complexion brightness, enhances smoothness and prevents new acne from forming on the face, back and chest.
Jessner Peel
This combination peel contains lactic acid, salicylic acid, and resorcinol for a medium depth exfoliation and stimulation of the dermis resulting in increased collagen synthesis. The peel will help to minimize the appearance of mild to moderate hyperpigmentation and reduce the appearance of oily, blemish-prone skin. The Jessner Peel is formulated to diminish blemishes, visible signs of aging and discolored skin while improving overall skin radiance, texture and tone.
The Perfect Derma Peel
The Perfect Derma Peel is the only chemical peel that includes the powerful anti-oxidant glutathione as an active component. The Perfect Derma Peel works to repair and nourish the skin by giving it a radiant glow, refining pores, improving skin blemishes, diminishing fine lines and wrinkles, eliminating acne and preventing acne marks. Most importantly, the glutathione defies the aging process.
Eye and Lip Peel
The eye and lip peel combines lactic acid and trichloroacetic acid to significantly increase skin firmness while decreasing the appearance of dark spots and dark circles for a more youthful appearance. It will improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet while defining the lip border and cupid’s bow for rounder, fuller lips.
Hand Peel
The hand peel is formulated with lactic acid, trichloroacetic acid, and kojic acid to minimize the appearance of fine lines, small scars and coarse wrinkles while giving an immediate brightening effect for a younger looking hands with improved skin texture, tone and smoothness.

A VI Peel can treat a variety of skin concerns, and most people are a good candidate for the treatment. In fact, it's suitable for most skin types.

The VI Peel is virtually painless as it contains an anesthetic which help lower any discomfort
Immediately after your peel, your skin will look darker, as pigmentation is brought to the surface. It will also smell funny because the peel contains formaldehyde. By day two and three, it won’t be so apparent that you’ve had a chemical peel. You’ll be able to return to your regular activities but sun exposure should be avoided. Your skin will begin to start peeling around day three and will continue till day seven. During this time, patients can expect redness, irritation, itching and flaking. Diligent skin care and protection from the sun will aid healing and mitigate possible side effects.

My service was done by a Nurse Practitioner named Saneeha which made the whole experience feel so much more legitimate then just some random day spa. She was super knowledgeable, patient and informative. She even showed me the gunk that came off my face in the vile (i know, TMI). I immediately bought a package to go back monthly for these hydrafacials. The EM Sculpt was a surprisingly a pleasant experience and definitely felt it the next day. Definitely recommend this spot for hands-on and professional care. This is not a bunch of random contractors working on your face and body and they are priced well for that huge advantage!!

I have been lucky enough to have experienced tons of spas including medical spas in the past. Someone I know suggested Heritage because I was looking for a hydrafacial after a long summer spending a lot of time outside. The prices were intriguing especially compared to NYC so I gave it a try. I was obviously a little hesitant about going to a new place during Covid times and I have a ridiculously high standard of cleanliness. This place was immaculate. I actually looked for a misstep in cleaning and couldn't find one. They have HEPA filtering/air cleaning system throughout and the staff were all wearing masks and when treating they were also wearing shields. It's not only clinically clean it was also warm, inviting and the treatment room had that spa feel I like. Saneeha Toor is extremely knowledgeable and I would trust her with any treatments she offers...and there are many, including a brand new EmSculpting machine that intrigued me. The hydrafacial was awesome though and I would highly recommend it to anyone. She will spend time with you before and after and offer any of her own services as well as DIY treatments to keep up with the healthy skin routine. I don't ever write reviews, and I have to say, I was compelled to do so after my visit there because it was so professional, clean, affordable and exceeded my high expectations.
